Job description

Duties Perform a variety of procedural clerical and technical duties associated with services necessary for personnel screening to include fingerprinting, data input, and hard-copy/mail or electronic transfer of fingerprints to appropriate agencies. Establish and maintain all required forms, records and files pertaining to assigned work by applying knowledge of various Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Army (DA), and local regulations, directives, and precedents. Retrieve data from various information sources, both manual and electronic, for use in answering questions, responding to correspondence, making decisions, or preparing reports or briefings. Conduct Military Personnel Records processing functions including but not limited to in-processing, out-processing, individual updates, Soldier Readiness Processing, promotion/selection boards and contingency operations for permanent party. Conduct Strength Reporting operations including but not limited to requisitions, stabilization, Additional Skill Identifier (ASI)/Special Qualification Identifier (SQI), sponsorship, and permissive TDY. Conduct identification document processing functions, including but not limited to Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) enrollment and verification, processing Identification card applications and issuance of Identification cards. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This is a Term position scheduled to last 4 years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management. Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time. Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
