Job description

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for overseeing the financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. The Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the general ledger, tracking expenses, processing payments, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Job Description:

Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, accounts, and payable/receivable.

Track and manage budgets for construction projects.

Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, subcontracts, and payment requests.

Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and categorized.

Contact new and existing customers to discuss needs.

Emphasize the features of products to highlight how they solve customer problems.

Manage accounts payable, including reviewing, coding, and processing invoices.

Monitor accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of payments from clients and subcontractors.

Collaborate with teams in many different sectors.

Maintain contact list and follow up with customers to continue relationships.

Assist with lien releases, contractor's licenses, and insurance certificates.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and construction-specific regulations.

Jeb Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related

3-5 years bookkeeping experience

Construction industry strongly preferred

Proficient with Sage accounting software

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office

Strong Excel skills

Strong understanding of accounting principles and construction cost accounting.

Excellent Organizational Skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Background in Construction industry is a must.

Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and in a team setting.

Interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of people each day, build relationships to network.
