Job description


  • Read and interprets schematics and wiring diagrams

  • Uses color code for component identification

  • Performs repetitive, preparatory and intermediate wiring functions on chassis,



components and sub-assemblies. Perform P.C. board repairs and solder touch-up.




  • May be required to make variety of cables and harnesses of moderate



complexity and may make breadboards.




  • May check work for connections, continuity, insulation and other electrical factors using ohmmeters, computer hardware/software and other electrical test equipment.

  • Soldering to military specification.

  • Prepares wires and/or components by cutting to length, tinning, bonding, and



attaching terminals.




  • Solders plugs and sockets to cable wires

  • Identifies wires, twists, sew, ties and laces and makes simple cables.

  • Solders and connects wires to exposed components such as resistor boards,



Plugs and printed circuit boards




  • Wires assemblies from engineering models, simple pictorials, or breakdown



sheets.




  • Performs non-precision mechanical assembly operations of electrical and



mechanical components.




  • Utilize all hand tools necessary for the performance of duties such as wire stripper,



pliers, tweezers, soldering iron, etc.




  • May be required to assist in the Silk-screening/Coating and/or other areas of



production on an as need basis.
