JOB SUMMARY The Lead Operations Specialist provides subject matter expertise to support Flagstar Financial Operations Department in accordance with procedures and policies set forth by the Bank. Assists manager with delegation and monitoring of daily work of staff. Please note the expected pay rate for this role will be between $34.00-$38.00 hourly, depending on selected individual's specific qualifications and location.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handles more complex aspects and assists teammates with the billing process and updating system as needed.
  • Handles more complex aspects of the daily postings to sub ledger of various forms of payments by check, wire, ACH and internal transfer.
  • Assists the funding department in the daily reconciliation of cash disbursements as needed.
  • Assists in the month end process by way of report processing for finance partners.
  • Performs ad-hoc sub ledger system update projects as directed by management.
  • Orients and trains teammates.

ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:

  • Education level required: High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent
  • Minimum experience required: 7+ Years prior banking or finance experience.
  • Experience in bookkeeping/accounting; financial ledger updates, daily reconciliations.

Job Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Flagstar Financial business lines.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to multi-task and use multiple systems to perform daily tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, train and assist less experienced staff.
  • Physical demands (ADA): No unusual physical exertion is involved.
