Responsibilities:
James F. Butler & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Insurance companies, is seeking a Legal Secretary to join the Jericho, NY office. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to supporting two Attorneys with requesting and bookmarking medical records, discovery follow-up, e-filing, and drafting pleadings/motions. The most qualified candidates will have the ability to communicate effectively, work independently, and prioritize workload in a fast paced and time sensitive environment.

This is a hybrid position working Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The selected candidate should plan to spend time working both in the Jericho office and from home (if desired) as part of a hybrid work arrangement. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs.

Based in Jericho, NY, we enjoy an active and busy civil trial practice. We provide a congenial, team-oriented, and professional work environment with skilled support staff.

Qualifications:
Minimum 2-5 years of civil litigation experience preferably in insurance defense or personal injury environment

Experience with medical record requests and discovery process

Experience with New York E-filing procedures

Experience drafting simple motions/pleadings

Strong technical agility including proficiency in software technology and tools such as Microsoft Suite, Adobe Professional, and case management software

Potential salary range: $64,857.81-$70,000

Potential yearly incentive pay up to 6% of the base salary (results may vary year to year)
