Job Purpose
The Project Controls Scheduler will develop and oversee the schedule management delivery of projects within Gas Complex Construction. Utilizing Primavera P6, the scheduler will develop, monitor, update, and apply project controls techniques to ensure scope, schedule, and budget adherence throughout the Network Development Process.
Key Accountabilities:
Accountable for building and developing project schedules across a portfolio. The schedules will be built using the agreed work breakdown structure to support Engineers, Construction Managers, and Project Managers.
Progress each project every month to ensure all projects are monitored for project controls in line with the monthly reporting cycle, checking accuracy and consistency of data, as well as supporting the end of year reconciliation process.
Accountable for using the schedule and forecast to review the project cost/schedule integration throughout the Network Development Process.
Accountable for ensuring schedule data is accurate to allow Project Controls to report milestones, planned value and earned value data, % completed on projects and project commentaries.
Provide technical input and project level analysis.
Understand sound scheduling logic and the interface of milestones and links between activities, portfolio views, etc.
Understand how individual projects interact with each other as a result of outage plans and project interdependencies.
Support the activities of other team members, providing input and analysis as required.
The ability to support, communicate and effectively develop working relationships with staff at all levels.
Ability to use computer-based planning tools and work scheduling systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, Bachelor of Architecture, or an equivalent of eight (8) years of verifiable work experience in a scheduling/technical role.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in the use of Oracle Primavera Project Management (P6) for the purpose of developing, monitoring, and maintaining the EPC & Integrated Schedule and all required reporting.
Sound knowledge and understanding of project scheduling.
Must have intermediate knowledge or advance knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Good communication and time management.
Demonstrated relevant experience in construction, planning, scheduling, expediting, and tracking the progress of the Work for contracts of a similar nature, size, and complexity.
Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy.
Areas of expertise should include but not limited to:
Performed Schedule Delay Analysis throughout the life cycle of the Project.
Utilizing Windows Schedule Delay Analysis Method
Prepared project Change Order schedule delay estimates & analysis.
Evaluated Extension of Time Requests (EOT)
Provided written updates on schedule variances for inclusion in both Monthly and Quarterly Reports.
Developed and Integrated Schedule Frag-Net for Change Orders into Project Schedule.
Evaluated the impact of additional work order to the schedule.
Provided written updates on critical paths for inclusion in both Monthly and Quarterly Reports.
Reviewed and analyzed schedules developed by General Contractors.
Reviewed contractor schedule logic, durations, and recovery plans.
Conduct Construction Progress Verification for all work packages from various Construction Managers, Resident Engineers and Field Engineers via Site Walk-Throughs.
Perform Schedule & Cost Variances Analysis.
Critical Path Analysis.
Prepared Monthly Schedule Analysis and Progress Reports For Assigned Projects.
Understanding of Earned Value Management As Related To The Engineering & Construction Projects.
