The Database Architect will have responsibility for technical aspects at the New York Health State of Health. This includes analysis of business requirements, data analysis, and query development for reporting for business users at the NYSoH.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Review and translation of business requirements into reporting structure data models

Writing efficient complex Packages/procedures/Queries

Working with policy regarding Affordable Care Act or Medicaid which includes Eligibility and Enrollment

Automating of manual queries through Cognos and DataStage

Data modeling, specifically for data warehouse projects

ETL framework for data warehouse projects

Database Architect

Determines database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming; reviews objectives with clients; evaluates current systems; provides database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems.

Expert 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.

84 months of experience writing complex SQL for queries, stored procedures/triggers/functions in DB2/Oracle for data extraction and data integration purposes in multi-terabyte database.

84 months of experience in gathering reporting and analysis requirements and translating them into reporting structure data models, including aggregate tables, pivoted tables, and relational and dimensional (star-schema) marts.

84 months of experience with data modeling, including logical, conceptual, and physical modeling of data warehouse projects and data warehouse loading techniques (Change Data Capture (CDC) and Slowly Changing Dimensions).

84 months of experience with various reporting tools, including COGNOS.

84 months of experience working on ETL framework for data warehouse projects, which includes Informatica / Data stage tools.

56 months of experience working with the Affordable Care Act or Medicaid.

48 months of experience working with OSC and KPMG auditors for analyzing and debugging Enrollment and Eligibility data.

48 Months of experience with Medicaid Data Warehouse (MDW).

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or similar field of study.
