Job description

The HR Generalist will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the employee life cycle, including onboarding, performance management, employee relations, engagement, labor relations, and terminations. This role requires a strong understanding of HR practices and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in the hospitality or manufacturing sectors and be bilingual in Spanish. The role is fully onsite.

An international catering company dedicated to providing high-quality services and products to our clients is hiring for their HR team. Their team at JFK International Airport plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our catering services. They are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to manage the full employee life cycle and support their workforce in maintaining high standards of service and efficiency.

Description

  • Onboarding: Manage the onboarding process, ensuring new employees are properly integrated into the company, equipped with the necessary tools, and understand company policies and procedures.
  • Performance Management: Oversee performance management processes, including setting performance expectations, conducting evaluations, and implementing development plans to drive employee performance.
  • Employee Relations: Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and provide guidance to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  • Employee Engagement: Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention, fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Labor Relations: Assist in labor relations matters, including handling grievances, ensuring compliance with labor agreements, and maintaining good relationships with union representatives.
  • Terminations: Manage the offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews, processing terminations, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Compliance: Ensure all HR practices comply with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in the hospitality or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor relations, and employment law.
  • Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite full time
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
