Duties You will lead three or more employees to ensure workers have necessary plans, procedures, blueprints, instructions, and tools to perform their work. You will lead machinists in the overhaul and repair of various types of marine equipment. You will lead other machinists in the set up and operations of various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, boring mills, jig borers, shapers, and numerically controlled machines. You will ensure workers have the necessary plans, procedures, blueprints, instructions, tools, etc. to perform their work operations. You will maintain close observation of all work operation. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OE SUPERVISE Diagnosing various types of Marine Machinery equipment problems, by applying a variety of methods, techniques or procedures, maintaining liaison with other trade and technical personnel and providing continuous leadership over the efforts of other machinists, apprentices and other shop employees performing assignments. Planning and laying out work orders associated with the overhaul, repair and maintenance of ships machinery and equipment. Using machine tools for milling, grinding, machining, facing, boring, and drilling along with the use of various portable machines.
