Project Manager I Highway Design

Description:

Immediate need for a qualified Civil Project Manager with highway design experience. Responsible for the development of the project scope and fee quotation and assists in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts. Serves as the primary client liaison and manages the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion. Performs technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects. Performs coordination with managers on project staffing including development, retention, and succession of project staff, and support for performance and compensation reviews.

Responsibilities:

Develop project scope and assist in the preparation of technical proposals

Serves as primary client liaison

Assist with business development, building client relationships, emphasizing pursuit efforts for both mini and mega projects

Manage the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budget

Prepare reports, design, and specifications

Coordinate with all managers and project staff

Oversees completeness and accuracy of project teams work

Guides and mentors team to overall project objectives

Coordinates technical aspects of project with client counterparts and teaming partners

Coordinate with various managers in regard to project staffing development, and retention

Job Requirements:

15 + years of experience highway design

With 6+ years of relevant project management experience (with a BS degree)

Or 5+ years of relevant project management experience (with a Masters degree)

Or 4+ years of project management experience (with a PhD)

MUST have proven NYS DOT experience

MUST have knowledge or experience with InRoads or other Civil 3D software.

Candidates MUST have Design/Build experience

Good client relationship development skills

Excellent verbal and writing communication skills

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering minimum

Masters Degree in Civil Structural Engineering preferred

PE License required (prefer NY license)
