Job Title:

Senior-level Deputy Program Manager - Construction High-rise Institutional buildings (Brooklyn facility)

Client:

Our client is an international firm providing professional and technical support services to public and private sector clients. Their expertise includes government and institutional facilities, bridge and highway construction, transportation design and commercial and residential building facilities construction/maintenance. They use their extensive knowledge to restore and replace aging infrastructure across cities, countries, and continents. Recent projects include a new subway line in New York City, the world's largest green-field port development in Qatar, a 24-kilometer sea crossing in Malaysia and the expansion of LA International Airport. Over five-thousand Architects and 75,000 Engineers work for this A/E firm around the world.

Job Description:

Immediate need for a Deputy Program Manager for Construction to support the execution and delivery of design-build services for four new borough-based jails to replace the Riker's Island facility. This position will be in-person at the Brooklyn facility.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate construction activities to ensure successful project completion.

Oversee the application of program level policies.

Provide leadership in the management of contract, scope, budget, and staff.

Maintain good working relationships and close interface with the client.

Lead a team of design and construction management staff consisting of site project managers, inspectors, schedulers, estimators, and site safety.

Proactively identify problems or opportunities and seek to develop alternative approaches.

Assist in managing project budget and forecasting cost.

Keep management informed on progress for project and budget through regularly scheduled operation review meetings.

Qualifications:

15 years or more of experience in construction projects.

5 years or more experience in a leadership capacity.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering or other relevant construction or engineering fields of study.

Proficient computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint.

Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale high rise construction projects.

Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, and estimating.

Must have advanced presentation skills. Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and scope of work.

Solid proficiency in project management software.

Experience leading complex construction projects.

Proven experience working with NYC agencies.

Effective leadership capabilities.

Strong verbal and written skills in a client-facing capacity.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, or Engineering, other relevant construction or engineering fields of study.
