JOB DESCRIPTION
Senior Sourcing Analyst
Responsible for cross functional support of all cost of goods reduction (COGS) Initiatives:
Explore & capitalize on full capabilities & cost competitiveness (both existing and new vendors)
Scope initiatives w/ competitive quoting, costing and validating opportunities
Project management of COGS initiatives to drive effective progress
Facilitate VE brainstorm & ideation (both internal & external)
Analyze & mitigate cost increase requests; support cost negotiations
Continue to build and maintain COGS Initiative Tracking with Beauty Ops & Brand partners:
Partner with Initiative owners to reconcile unit volume, rates, timing, and track overall progress
Track actualization & reconcile Initiatives into Price Point Variance and / or Average Unit Cost
Supported publication of results to coincide with Steering Co, PPV Monthly Finance meetings

It s our Beauty Sourcing team working within my group focusing on Cost of Goods (COGS) reduction initiatives. There are several COGS projects already identified that need to be managed and implemented, plus this role will scope out additional COGS projects coming down the pipeline.
Any Recommendations on good questions to ask when screening potential candidates?
Do they have Project Management experience? Have they worked on Cost of Goods (COGS) reduction initiatives?
What are some things that would stand out from candidates?
Prior Project Management or COGS reduction experience. Familiarity with the Beauty Industry.
What are some disqualifiers?
Poor communicator or unorganized
What is your timeline for reviewing, interviewing, and hiring a candidate?
Ideally hiring someone within the month
What is the interview process for this role?
Meeting with me and potentially 1-2 other coworkers.
What would a typical day look like in this role as far as workload?
Standard 8 hours per day managing projects and working closely with cross-functional teams to identify, track and implement COGS reduction initiatives.
Is there a chance this will be extended? Is there a chance for this worker to be converted to a full-time position? Even though you can't guarantee a timeline of conversion, when was the last time you converted a contractor on your team?
Yes and Yes. In my previous role within Packaging, we brought on two contractors as full-time associates within the 8 years I ve been with VS&Co.
Would you consider a recent graduate (or years of experience)?
Not likely as we need someone more experienced.
Why is the role open Newly created, Backfill, Project based (please provide details of project)?
Project-based to implement some major COGS reduction initiatives.
