Job Description:
Service is at the heart of what we do in Support Services, and as a Supervisor, Patient Transport, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely transport of patients, specimens, and equipment. This leadership role directly impacts patient care at MSK by coaching and leading your team to deliver seamless, high-quality service during critical moments. You'll champion process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and service excellence.
Role Overview:
• Monitor operations and staff activities daily, and identify opportunities for process improvements to ensure tasks are completed accurately and within timeframes.
• Oversee quality and timely completion of work, communicating unresolved issues to other supervisors for smooth shift transitions.
• Prepare and manage staff schedules, resolving staffing issues, and approving overtime or per diem staff when needed.
• Ensure effective financial stewardship by managing labor costs and optimizing resource allocation within the department.
• Coach and mentor your team by developing and implementing orientation and training programs to ensure their success.
• Lead the recruitment, interviewing, and assessment of candidates, ensuring alignment with MSK's values and commitment to high standards of patient care.
• Ensure adequate equipment and supplies are available, reporting shortages promptly.
• Encourage participation in quality improvement initiatives, delegating tasks as needed.
• Represent the department while maintaining an organization-wide perspective, collaborating to improve operations.
Key Qualifications:
• 4-7 years of supervisory experience with a focus on efficient operations management, leading process improvement, communicating expectations effectively, and team development.
• Strong coaching, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn and champion new technologies.
