The Terminal Foreman II role is based in Cementon/Catskill NY plant and reports directly to the Plant Manager.
The Terminal Foreman is the designated "secondary" point of contact at the Cementon, NY shipping & distribution terminal and serves as a back-up function to the Terminal Manager. The basic purpose of the Terminal Foreman is to lead the team and support bulk cement material receipts, product transfers in the bulk storage silos and river dock areas, as well as bulk shipments out of the silos . This includes field enforcement and oversight of internal/external worker safety, environmental compliance, area site security (back-up Facility Security Officer (FSO , direct supervision and oversight of bulk cement and material handling personnel (water, land, rail), bulk loading and unloading, & transfer system equipment operations and maintenance, field supervision and oversight of maintenance activities and PM/PdM programs in the bulk cement and bulk material handling areas, inclusive of the Kovako ship unloader, cement bulk storage silos, and main water-front dock area activities.
What you'll get to do
Supervises 3-4 internal workers and external contractors and/or service providers to achieve daily bulk cement shipping & unloading objectives in a safe and efficient manner.
Schedules and distributes daily work assignments relative to bulk cement material loading/off-loading and bulk material transfers, mainly in the bulk storage silos, rail unloading, and dock areas.
Coordinates and organizes routine equipment repairs and maintenance PM/PdM activities in the bulk cement storage silos, rail unloading system and dock areas.
Supports routine safety and environmental compliance and site security in accordance with OSHA and established NY State and Federal regulations. Back-up FSO certification.
Supports forward planning, scheduling, and reporting associated with bulk cement import receipts, internal bulk cement transfers, and out-bound shipments
Supports spare parts procurement, ordering of materials and supplies, and general spare parts inventory management relative to bulk cement material handling systems.
Essential Experience and Skills:
2-year Assoc or technical degree and/or 1 - 3 years equivalent job training and/or experience in similar role
Knowledge of OSHA strongly preferred
Strong computer skills including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word, SAP, CDM
Strong analytical and technical skills
Good communication skills both oral and written
Good organizational skills to manage multiple priorities
Prior experience working in an industrial or manufacturing setting preferred. Prior experience in distribution or terminal facility strongly preferred
Prior Supervisory experience is a plus
Prior experience supporting safety in an organization (OSHA or MSHA)
Prior technical experience and understanding or training is a plus
