Job description
Overview:
Assist the Director in the oversight of day to day operations of the Residential Services Program. Ensures compliance with all Agency policies, State and Federal regulations, as well as COMPASS and CQL initiatives. Ensures quality services are provided by maintaining the Agency's mission, values, and guiding principles.
Responsibilities:
Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
Supervise, support, and train Residential Managers through frequent visits to the homes, telephone contact and scheduled meetings to ensure overall effective performance. Ensure evaluations of Residential Managers are completed timely and consistently.
Continuously confers with the Director through meetings to exchange information, receive instruction and provide an update on the overall status of the program.
Participates in various meetings with the Director, Residential Managers, Interdisciplinary Team, Day Program staff, committees, and families to discuss program planning, review progress and address any issues concerning the people supported and/or general operations.
Serve as a liaison between the Program and other departments to advocate as needed and resolve issues that arise.
Ensure fiscal efficiencies by overseeing the operational budget for each site; for example: Review staffing patterns for efficiencies; oversee the use of overtime to ensure there is clear justification; efficiently manage vacancies and leaves; ensure adherence to food and other incidental budgets; review payroll to ensure accuracy and corrections as needed; ensure daily billing and bussing is completed to avoid loss of revenue.
Maintain on-call availability and respond to emergencies or crises occurring in the residences during both business and non-business hours.
Conduct periodic physical plant inspections at each site to ensure the home is maintained in a clean and safe manner. Meet with the staff to discuss the operation and condition of the residence.
Visits homes routinely to provide the necessary support and oversight to the Management staff.
Reviews program files to ensure compliance with all OPWDD regulations and agency policy; including, but not limited to: personal allowance, fire drill reports, incident reporting, monthly note and clinical records, etc.
Confers with the Quality Assurance Department to discuss reported incidents and recommended follow-up. Ensure follow-up is implemented in a timely fashion.
Confers with the Quality Assurance Department on changes in regulations and problems involving families or issues identified during COMPASS visits; participate in OPWDD activities when necessary.
Ensures compliance with all required residential habilitation billing components; ensures accuracy prior to submission of such documents to accounting.
Participates in the development and maintenance of agency policies governing the Residential Program; ensures compliance with same.
Serves as a member of committees as assigned by the Director
Performs other related responsibilities as requested by the Director.
This position requires regular and substantial unsupervised or unrestricted physical contact with people receiving services and, therefore, is subject to successful completion of fingerprint/criminal background check
Ensures that work-related safety procedures are in place and are being adhered to by staff. Observance of an unsafe act or a potentially hazardous work environment must be immediately reported to supervisor and/or safety committee.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a human services or related field required.
Must be a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) with a minimum of seven (7) years' experience in human services, three (3) years' supervisory experience, and three (3) years' experience with oversight of day to day program operations of OPWDD certified programs.
