Accountant - Financial Reporting

CFS has partnered with a boutique financial services firm that specializes in providing financing for personal and commercial clients. Affiliated with one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of commercial vehicles through the United States, they provide leasing with flexibility for each of their customer's unique circumstances. Due to growth they are looking for an Accountant to take on some of the workload from the Financial Reporting Manager. This role is located in Purchase, NY and offers a hybrid schedule after training.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports by downloading data from various systems and providing it to the Financial Reporting Manager.
• Help with the adjustment of journal entries, primarily focusing on recurring entries. This involves copying entries from the previous month and making necessary adjustments.
• Perform extensive work in Excel to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Manage the lease tracking system for approximately 2,600 leases across 50 states.
• Identify leases that are expiring each month and remove them from the system according to the training manual provided.
• Verify the accuracy of system-generated journal entries and correct any discrepancies.
• Identify and resolve any issues within the lease tracking process.
• Collaborate closely with Accounting Manager to manage business operations across all 50 states.
• Submit annual reports based on licensing requirements and keep track of due dates.
• Coordinate with third-party agencies to ensure they are on schedule for submissions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is a MUST
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with financial reporting is a MUST
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle repetitive tasks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
