Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a Test Lead Engineer to lead our test team in support of the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) Information Directorate in Rome, NY. AFRL is one of the nation's premier government research labs, with a mission of leading the discovery, development, and integration of affordable warfighting technologies for air, space, and cyber forces. AFRL's Information Directorate focuses on solutions for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) and Cyber technologies. Responsibilities include: Independent testing of software and systems that comprise our AFRL customer's suite of Cross Domain Solutions (CDS)
Manage a fast-paced test environment that requires an experienced, results-oriented leader with a desire to solve challenging problems
Plan, design, develop, implement, and document test solutions needed to support current and future versions of SecureView
Develop test solutions that incorporate the flexibility needed to adapt to future system architectures and capabilities and be automated to the greatest extent possible
Provide test case and test plan development, formal and exploratory/ad-hoc testing, and test automation development
Develop and maintain the test solution's baseline
Integrating hardware and software for the test solution
Verify the test solution's readiness to be released for use at operational sites
Manage and report the team's technical and schedule progress Required Education, Experience, & Skills BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
5 years relevant experience
Experience, knowledge, and adherence to sound engineering lifecycle workflow principles across hardware, software, network, interfaces, high-level/detail design, integration, verification, and regression testing.
Ability to coordinate between and amongst multiple stakeholders and vendors to ensure resources are provided to meet project needs and used to effectively meet project goals
Experience designing, developing, writing, and executing formal test plans and procedures to address new and existing functional and/or security requirements for software and hardware systems.
Experience managing test processes using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Zephyr)
Understanding the need for, and be an advocate of, disciplined approaches (requirements, processes, and practices)
Security+ Cert or equivalent certification
Experience with test automation and knowledge of test automation tools
Demonstrated ability to work within existing test frameworks, as well as to improve them
DoD 8570 IAT Level II Compliant
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with focus on root cause identification Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Operational Air Force experience Ability to break down technical concepts into business terms
Knowledgeable about CDS in general, and the AFRL suite of solutions in particular
Experience performing CDS validation and verification testing against RTB requirements
Expert knowledge in, and experience with, all aspects of Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) Assessment & Authorization (A&A) processes, with focus on NIST security controls relevant to CDS and methods for testing them
Working system administration-level experience with various Operating Systems (Solaris, Red Hat Linux, Windows Server)
Experience leading teams using Agile Scrum and/or SAFe agile practices
Familiarity, based on applied experience, with Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux)
Development skills in common scripting languages such Perl, PHP, Python, and Bash
Ability to evaluate results of static code analysis (Fortify) for Java and C/C++
Virtualization - eg. VMWare, Citrix, Xen
Familiarity with current cross-domain technologies
Experience working with PC hardware and peripherals
Knowledge of hardware design principles, testing tools, equipment, and techniques
Familiarity with Verilog/VHDL and FPGA's Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115100 - $195700 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
