Qualifications you'll bring:
A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

The availability to work full time and hybrid at our Schenectady, NY office

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related field

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.

Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office Suite.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Attention to detail and ability to work with a high level of accuracy.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Flexibility and agility in an ever changing, highly regulated industry.

Your key responsibilities:

Performs accounting duties including creating journal entries via interpreting business data and translating to accounting ledger dimensions,

Prepares and analyzes financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Conducts monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and support decision-making processes.

Performs reconciliations of accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.

Assists in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.

Participates in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Stays updated on accounting principles and industry trends, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Mentors and trains junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.

Collaborates with accounting team to provide innovative approaches for continued improvement in process efficiency and effectiveness

Where you'll be:

Schenectady, NY - Hybrid - in office two days per week

The base pay range provided for this role reflects our good faith compensation estimate at the time of posting.
