Overview:
St. Catherine of Siena Hospital, affiliated with Catholic Health, is located in Smithtown, NY on a beautiful 110-acre campus that includes a 290-bed community hospital, a 240-bed nursing and rehabilitation facility, and a 60,000 sq. ft. medical office building. SCS is engaged with error reduction initiatives and on a journey to High Reliability. We have been recognized in superior care in stroke and sepsis patients, have also recently attained Center of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery, and have been designated as the only Baby Friendly hospital in Suffolk County.

Job Details:
Responsibilities:

Maintains a rolling inventory of supplies and equipment by checking invoices, purchase orders, packing slips against receipt of inventory.

Properly organizes storage of supplies and equipment.

Locates missing items and replenishes stock.

Checks supplies for expiration dates rotates stock and discards as indicated.

Ensures that adequate levels of supplies exist by placing just in time orders to established PAR levels, as needed.

Consistently updates inventory when receiving and issuing supplies and releases all orders.

Ensures that all orders are confirmed with a written purchase order and/or electronic data.

Secures needed supplies, including picking up supplies at other locales if necessary.

Promptly notifies department managers/supervisors when special orders arrive.

Maintains a well-organized, neat supply area

Maintains cleanliness of storeroom.

Performs all related duties as required and unrelated duties as requested during emergencies.

Requirements:

High School diploma or GED equivalency required.

Computer, general office equipment, pallet jacks

Must be well organized and knowledgeable in systems supporting material supply

Willing to attend educational courses to increase knowledge in area of inventory control and food service safety & sanitation

Must have valid N.Y.S. Driver's License

Food Handlers or Servsafe certification preferred.

Position demands standing on feet for long periods of time while receiving inventory & with supplies and equipment.

Must be able to bend, stretch, reach for, and lift heavy items of 80 lbs.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with care team members, facilitators, suppliers, vendors.

Experience in inventory control and materials handling preferred.

Posted Salary Range:
USD $25.65 - USD $25.65 /Hr.
