BAS Operator West Point, NY, US Building Automation Systems Operator - Full Time West Point, NY Exp Federal is an established full service architectural and engineering firm that provides a full range of design solutions and construction support to the federal government. Our team of professionals operates in some of the most challenging environments to provide support services to a variety of governmental agencies globally. The Challenge: exp Federal is seeking a motivated Building Automation Systems Operator to provide technical and programming support for Building Automation Systems (BAS) and industrial control systems (ICS) at West Point Principle Areas of Responsibility: Preventive and Corrective Maintenance of site DDC based hardware and software including working with other engineers to verify control and integration point lists.
Application Specific Controller and Global/network preventive maintenance
Develop daily field activity reports, trending, global schedules and BAS System generated Reports, Network Optimum Start/Stop, Rolling Loads, OA reset types of Energy Management routines. Conduct quality control and assist other engineers' efforts for a variety of direct digital control (DDC) system components and sequences.
Identify any potential problem areas, recommend solutions, and work closely and cooperatively with other engineers and the client to resolve issues quickly and fairly.
Perform system operation and troubleshooting functions regarding responding to alarms, system inoperability discovery, integration, sequence of operation verification, and reviewing building operation for proper functionality.
Work with project stakeholders (customers, supervisors, programmers, field personnel, other contractors) to gather information relating to any issues and/or changes in functionality and features of various control systems. Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years work experience in HVAC, Building Automation or control systems with a minimum of 3 years directly working on any combination of integration, checkout, testing, commissioning, and/or field support of DDC and/or PLC-based automation systems
Demonstrate working knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems, PLC Logic Knowledge of IP-based networks and various building automation communication protocols and systems preferred. Such protocols and systems include Niagara Tridium, BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus
Demonstrate working knowledge of specification and design drawing review for control, electrical and mechanical applications as well as industry standards and best practices
Must work independently with little or no supervision while providing guidance to other team members
