Responsibilities:
The Admissions Counselor is responsible for coordinating and implementing student application process. This includes recruitment, advisement, Admissions Committee deliberations, completion of admission records for each admitted student and appropriate disposition of records for all other applicants.
• Maintain professional relationships with faculty, staff and students, nursing service personnel, hospital departments, cooperative agencies, and community resources.
• Meets deadlines, ensuring that assigned projects are prioritized and completed in a timely manner. Checks work for accuracy, completeness, working effectively and efficiently.
• Manages mail, e-mail, telephone, and walk-in inquiries regarding school admissions.
• Assembles and maintains records for each applicant, following up on transcript requests and organizing all essential materials.
• Prepares and reviews records for the Admissions Committee.
• Coordinates the application process and reviews.
• Assists with scheduling and administration of standardized admissions testing.
• Supplies information regarding CLEP and challenge examinations to prospective students.
• Prepares all official correspondence to students regarding Admissions Committee decisions.
• Serves as a member of the Admissions Committee.
• Represents the school to current and prospective students, school counselors, faculties and administrators at recruitment events and information sessions, both virtual and in-person.
• Records and organizes data to assist in school, state, federal and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinates with Dir. of Student services and faculty with students needing referrals to additional support services.
• Compiles an annual report of Admissions activities.
• Collaborates with faculty and coordinates applicant interviews, when needed.
• Attends all mandatory hospital staff development programs annually.
• Follows the St. John's Riverside attendance policy.
• Role includes one-day per week of availability to the school's evening program on a rotational basis with members of the Student Services Department.
• Performs a wide variety of related job duties when necessary.
• Performs unrelated duties in times of emergency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree.
Pleasant demeanor.
Comfortable in public-facing encounters with focus on customer satisfaction.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in MS office suite applications.
Able to maintain electronic databases.
Experience in College/University Admissions recruitment processes preferred.
