Accounts Payable Clerk

Location: Yonkers, NY

Salary: $22-$25 per hour

Job Type: Full-time, 100% in-office

About Us:

Our client is a growing manufacturing company with a global presence. Their recent expansion through acquisitions has created an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join there team of 10 in the accounting department!

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to perform administrative tasks in support of our accounts payable function. This role will maintain A/P department records and interact with personnel across accounting, sales, and customer service departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle accounts payable for separate entities and vendors using accounting software, Excel, Epicor, and Sage
• Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors
• Ensure bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
• Process due invoices for payments
• Compare purchase orders, pricing, terms of payment, and other charges
• Process transactions and perform accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries, and making payments

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices
• Client will consider someone with no experience, as long as degree is in accounting

Reporting Structure:

This position reports directly to the AP Manager.
