Job description
Responsibilities:
Purpose: Responsible for troubleshooting machinery problems and continuously monitoring electrical and mechanical devices as part of a predictive and preventive maintenance plan. This position is expected to have a significant positive impact on Run-Time Efficiency (RTE) and total plant Uptime
Responsibilities/Principal Duties:
Perform all tasks in a safe manner.
Have a clear understanding of and strictly comply with LO/TO policy.
Troubleshoots and repairs problems with production equipment and continuously monitoring electrical and mechanical devices as part of a predictive and preventive maintenance plan.
Troubleshoots and repairs HVAC systems.
Locate electrical trouble by using multi-meter, amp meter and megger.
Repair and/or replace defective electrical equipment.
Assists in calling vendors for assistance with equipment.
Review work orders with resource as they are received, ask for clarification and confer with the requestor for additional clarification when needed.
Originate and process emergency work orders when needed.
Orders parts involved in repair and maintenance with assistance from the maintenance engineering team.
Performs daily preventive maintenance.
Acts as a group leader during preventive maintenance shutdowns.
Documents all modifications made to equipment during repairs (i.e. updating schematics, drawings, etc.).
Good working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic devices.
Knowledge of basic electrical principals.
Performs work in the servicing of pumps, boilers, piping and related equipment.
Suggests maintenance items to be included in preventive maintenance shutdowns
Assists in writing and updating standard maintenance procedures.
Stays informed of process changes which may affect the normal operation of the equipment.
Performs small installations and equipment modification projects.
Records all measurements during predictive and preventive maintenance activities to generate statistical charts for analysis.
Provides training to operations technicians in maintenance activities associated with Total Productive Maintenance practices.
Maintain a team effort attitude and approach familiarizes self with new equipment and assists in training other technicians
Has knowledge of and adheres to all departmental rules and regulations, as well as departmental procedures.
Serve as a resource to Production Tech and Plant Leadership in resolving customer complaints.
Responsible for fulfilling the tasks as outlined in the daily task lists.
Required to serve as a member of the Emergency Response team with training required in the following: Emergency Response, First Aid/CPR/BBP,Fire Extinguisher

Education: Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience working as a maintenance technician or equivalent education in industrial maintenance.
Physical/Cognitive Requirements:
Physical Demands: Requires prolonged sitting and frequent bending, stooping and stretching; manual dexterity; the ability to distinguish letters; occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds, frequent lifting up to 25 pounds. Required to occasionally ascend and descend up to three flights of stairs over extremely fast-moving machinery. Required to safely access fast moving machinery, which includes rolls with inward nip points. Ability to work outside normal scheduled working hours when needed in a 24/7/365 operation.
Equipment:
Knowledge of and skills in the use of extrusion equipment, winders, instrumentation & controls, air rings, gear boxes, bearings, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, rigging, ect.
Work Environment:
Job functions will be performed in and around the production facility.
Internal and External Contacts:
This position will interface with the plant workforce, management team, and outside contractors.
