Overview:

Aligns the vision and strategy of Cone Health across multiple acute care hospitals and other sites of patient care in the Northern and Eastern service region. The Market President is responsible for the leadership and direction of operations at Alamance Regional Medical Center and Annie Penn Hospital, as well as other assigned divisions as requested. Ensures achievement of established goals and objectives and to provide quality, economical health care services. This position collaborates with other clinical leaders in the ambulatory, clinic, ancillary and other operating lanes across the market to drive a unified Cone Health operating model that facilitates and forwards a consistent Cone Health brand promise in the region. Builds and maintains strong collaboration and partnership with key stakeholders across the enterprise, including service line / continuum of care leadership, digital health leadership, hospital entities, Cone Health?s medical group, Cone Health?s clinically integrated network and accountable care organization (Triad HealthCare Network), ambulatory services and affiliated providers and partners. Position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities:

Build and lead integrated senior leadership team that creates and fosters an environment of continuous improvement and drives the sustained transformation of the region through the provision of care with the highest quality, safety, and service; prudent financial stewardship, strong talent management strategies and strategic growth.
Within the context of Cone Health system priorities and brand promise, create a clear and unified vision of what business and clinical coordination may be leveraged throughout the region.
Forge collaborative, strategic, and successful partnerships across Cone Health that leverage system resources while advocating and prioritizing for needs within the region.
In partnership with other Cone Health executives, provide leadership in the development of programs and services to build programmatic growth specific to the needs of the community.
Assess and evaluates operational effectiveness across the region, identifying opportunities for synergy in care provision; Leads the development and executes implementation plans in conjunction with other operational leaders.
Oversee capital and operational planning for the region to ensure maximized utility of Cone Health resources in service to the identified community needs.
Leads and fosters the creation of new business opportunities in response to community need and the changing healthcare payment models and landscape.
Develops hospital leadership, leads market alignment strategy meetings, and responsible for operational metrics, KPIs, volumes, and other strategic goals for the market. Leads other operational entities and leaders as assigned.
Actively represents Cone Health in external activities, including but not limited to building community relationships, policy making advocacy, and philanthropic causes.
Builds effective relationships collaborating with Medical and Dental Staff concerning policy, procedure, patient care standards, facility utilization, contractual agreements and operational matters; assists in resolving problems.
Leads, coordinates, and resolves problems concerning operation of the hospital; provides direction to Hospital Vice Presidents and departmental leaders in carrying out responsibilities; interprets laws, corporate policies, operational procedures, and objectives.
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in health care.
Meets with community and public interest groups concerning corporate and hospital public interest matters and to promote good public relations and understanding of the Health System; monitors releases to news media; assists in public relations and fund raising activities. Represents the organization to community groups, trade associations and other local, state, regional and national groups as appropriate.
Prepares financial plan for the region based upon reviews of leadership recommendations and Medical Staff input.
Recruits, coaches and retains hospital leaders and other key staff to provide for efficient and high-quality patient care, patient satisfaction, financial performance, employee engagement, and physician involvement. Fosters and cultivates a broad lens of leadership effectiveness.
Responsible for required inspections and observations of the hospital facilities and operations to determine the effectiveness of operations and to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, accrediting agencies, policies and procedures; takes remedial actions to resolve or improve deficient conditions or problems.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required:
Masters Degree in Health Administration, Business or a related professional field

EXPERIENCE:

At least 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in an acute care setting are required. Certification as FACHE is preferred. A proven track record of leading initiatives to improve quality of care, assuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with accreditation standards in a regulatory environment with various state and federal agencies and The Joint Commission. Proven financial and operational track record demonstrating experience with budget strategy, identifying priorities and negotiating resources. Demonstrated experience utilizing analytic skills, critical and systems thinking skills and decision making in a complex administrative environment.

If driving Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
