Summary This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. Duties You will visit construction sites to observe conditions impacting the execution of project design and identifies solutions to design technical problems involving building construction, accessibility and life/safety code compliance. You will utilize various forms of computer hardware and software to accomplish assigned tasks, which include computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) systems, technical design/evaluation software, word processing, spreadsheets, and data management. You will perform technical review of the architectural design objectives, balancing functional requirements against technically sound and economical alternatives within latitudes allowed by governing criteria and regulations. You will periodically review existing architectural criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated material. You will provide support to construction managers and engineering technicians in resolving conventional and highly complex architectural problems prior to, during and after project construction. You will be required to meet any applicable credentialing or privileging requirements prior to appointment. You must currently possess a valid United States driver's license. Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: inspecting completed construction

Education Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications
Standards Manual: Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree in architecture OR Bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited college or university in architecture; or related field which includes 60 semester hours of course
work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design and (2) 6 semester hours were in
each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems
OR a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the arts and
sciences underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles,
methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings. The adequacy of your background
is demonstrated by at least one of the following: (I) Related Curriculum- Degree from an accredited college or university in architectural
engineering may be accepted as satisfying in full the basic requirements, provided the completed course work in architectural engineering
provided knowledge, skills, and abilities substantially equivalent to those provided in the courses specified in response A. (II) Experience- An
applicant lacking a degree in architecture must have at least 1 year of experience in an architect's office or in architectural work for each year
short of graduation from a program of study in architecture. In the absence of college courses, 5 years of such experience is required. This
experience must have demonstrated that the applicant has acquired a thorough knowledge of the fundamental principles and theories of
