About the job:

JMP is searching for an Accountant, which is a crucial role to the success of our Finance team and includes working closely with other team members. The Accountant will perform monthly accounting processes including transaction recordkeeping, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.

As an Accountant, responsibiliites will include:

Entering journal entries and maintaining the general ledger

Posting cash receipts against open customer invoices, investigating as needed

Assisting with US sales tax exemptions and filing of returns

Preparing monthly account reconciliations of financial data, researching variances, and adjusting as needed

Processing vendor bills and initiating timely payment batches for approval

Ensuring transactions are recorded following company policy

Collaborating in requests for system enhancements and user acceptance testing

Assisting in the setup of processes and procedures to properly capture, track and report company transactions.

Participating in special projects and initiatives as needed

Required Qualifications

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification preferred with 4 to 5 years of accounting or financial analysis role in a multinational organization.

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required. Master's degree and/or accounting certification preferred

Solid working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

Ability to exercise independent judgement to determine appropriate action

Strong attention to details and ability to meet deadlines

Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

Experience in cash receipts posting and sales tax a plus

Experience with NetSuite a plus

Headquarters in Cary, NC but open to remote applicants
