Job Summary:

The Loan Booking & Collateral Specialist is responsible for accurately booking loans onto the bank's system of record and ensuring proper collateral perfection in alignment with the bank's policies and procedures. This position plays a critical role in maintaining control over bank collateral, ensuring compliance with initial lien perfection, and managing all indicative data changes. The ideal candidate will have the ability to independently research, resolve issues, and collaborate confidently with business partners, legal counsel, and vendors to ensure timely and accurate completion of the loan booking and collateral process. The role also involves supporting continuous improvement efforts, team meetings, training, and fostering innovation within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately book loans onto the bank's system of record, ensuring correct collateral perfection and lien positions.

Maintain control of bank collateral, including setting up and inputting exception ticklers when applicable.

Ensure timely input of all indicative data changes, ensuring data accuracy and integrity in the loan and collateral process.

Perform research to resolve discrepancies and engage with line partners to facilitate problem-solving.

Interface with company vendors, legal counsel, and business partners to ensure smooth and efficient execution of the loan booking and collateral perfection process.

Understand and anticipate the evolving needs of clients, contributing to world-class service and ensuring client satisfaction.

Strive for continuous improvement in data accuracy and timeliness of the loan booking and collateral process.

Maintain an acceptable level of accuracy in all measurable categories of the loan booking process.

Actively participate in team meetings, training, and quality review sessions to improve processes and enhance team performance.

Bring new ideas and perspectives to drive innovation and unique solutions in the loan booking process.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve tools, technology, and workflows in response to evolving client and business needs.

Support the Market Leader in facilitating team meetings and quality reviews when necessary.

Assist with training new team members and sharing best practices to ensure high performance and skill development.

Contribute to creating a culture that values diversity and inclusion, reflecting the diverse needs of clients and employees around the world.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Ability to work independently and make decisions with confidence.

Excellent research, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to interface with a wide range of stakeholders, including legal teams, vendors, and clients.

Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Experience in loan booking, collateral management, or financial services operations preferred.

Understanding of lien perfection, collateral structures, and legal requirements in banking operations.

Familiarity with loan systems and related technologies is a plus.
