Sr. Monitoring Architect - Splunk/Dynatrace
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid role)
W2 Candidates (minimum 16 month validity required)
Interview: One hour tech panel- no 2nd round
Must Haves:
4+ years with Splunk and Dynatrace
Architect experience required
Understanding of Software stacks
Building monitoring solutions with Dynatrace and Splunk.
Proven ability to understand applications
This is NOT an engineering req.
Nice to Have:
Experience working with SRE teams
Job Description:
This is a unique opportunity to work with Business, Application Development and Support teams, Monitoring Tools teams and to create Monitoring Requirements and build end-end monitoring solutions to support applications.
This is not an application development role, however experience working in some capacity with an application development team - understanding how different components in an application work together, interaction with the middleware, system software and Hardware is essential. Diverse engineering skills to architect and implement monitoring solutions
What you will do:
Rollout of the strategic monitoring tool across Banking Client applications
SME for monitoring tools that form part of the global monitoring strategy
Monitoring setup for Applications on Cloud and Containers infrastructure.
Host demos, overviews, and training of the monitoring tools for adoption across teams, preparing related materials to support sessions and adoption of tools (presentations, operational manuals etc.)
Liaise with Client in the planning and scheduling of deployments
Consult with Client teams and assist in configuration of monitoring events/dashboards to maximize the potential and use of monitoring tool
Preparation of reporting of monitoring tools adoption and other related data points and other relevant metrics
Participate in global discussions on the continuation and evolution on global monitoring strategy.
o 4-year college degree required
o 2+ years Development or Architecture experience for multi-tiered business applications
o 5+ years production systems Architecting and/or support role.
o Proven experience with supporting monitoring tools such as - Dynatrace, Tivoli, Splunk, SiteScope, Catchpoint
o Familiarity with supporting monitoring on Cloud and Containers infrastructure
o Knowledge of OS (Windows/Unix) based infrastructure services, processing, monitoring, shell scripts, etc.
o Proven experience in programming languages (Java and/or .NET)
o Proven experience in application/network performance and availability monitoring
o Proven experience in N-Tier Architecture supporting a multitude of products (Webserver, Middleware, Database, etc.)
o Knowledge of ITIL functions and processes
o An excellent communicator, able to network and influence across multiple levels is required of this role
o A self-motivated, hands-on, driven individual.
o A strategic thinker who can link business context to technical reality.
o Previous experience in development and/or support of Banking applications.
o Experience in Major Incident Management
The ideal candidate will have experience working and being successful in a large, multi-data center enterprise environment. Business acumen a plus. Communication and flexibility are important skills for this role, as special projects may be assigned over time.
