Level: Mid-Senior

Project Length: This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 12 months (with potential extension)

Project Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Remote

The expected compensation range for this contract is $175k to $187k per year. The exact pay rate will vary depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to skills, experience, and location.

Key Responsibilities: One of our premier clients is seeking a Technical Program Manager. The Technical Program Manager provides direct program leadership to the delivery teams responsible for the BI&A Finance/Tax projects that will support the businesses and IT goals.

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Technical Program Manager to solve complex problems and support a team as they deliver innovative technology solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for scoping and delivering large projects end-to-end. Responsibilities include collection of business and systems requirements from internal and external customers, writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch.

You will lead and coordinate design/implementation efforts between internal teams and outside vendors to develop optimal solutions. You will be expected to make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams.

The right candidate will possess a strong technical program management background and will be able to demonstrate having led large cross-functional and cross-organizational projects. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment unhindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.

As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. To be successful in this role, you should be comfortable creating and maintaining technical project plans and diving into the technical details to understand the nuances and complexities involved. You will lead by example, balancing development responsibilities while participating in cross team efforts including architecture planning. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Works with the project team to define and document project scope.

Experience working on BI&A frameworks or platforms (Synapse, PowerBI, Oracle, Cognos, SAP, IICS)

Experience conceptualizing complex interrelated applications and system platforms (SAP, IICS)

Ability to communicate those systems to non-technical team members and business partners

Provide technical leadership and contributions to improve delivery of new programs.

Determine and drive engineering best practices.

Identify, track and resolve technical issues impacting multiple simultaneous projects.

Present well-reasoned and data-driven solution proposals in both verbal and written form to gain support, prioritize your recommendations on roadmaps, and deliver results.

Works with functional managers to staff projects by acquiring the necessary personnel from the various functional areas.

Creates a project plan and critical path with appropriate level of detail and manages tasks to support project governance requirements.

Develops project budgets, manages changes and tracks actual costs and variance to approved budget.

Manages issues, risks, and changes to project scope, schedule and budget.

Manages the completion of project tasks according to the schedule.

Communicates project status to IS and business management.

Finalizes project through identification and summarization of lessons learned and creation of the project closedown report.

Mentors team members in project management artifacts, processes, tools and techniques.

Ensures all project artifacts and deliverables are documented, approved, and stored for re-usability, support, and audit purposes in designated project tools.
