Job description

Duties You will monitor staffing goals and assignments. You will provide statistical data on current assets to higher management to assist in internal and external tasking requirements. You will compile required statistical data for management briefings and prepare briefings to include projected employees gains and losses. You will prepare reports on decisions and recommendations pertaining to assignments; research and prepare responses to queries from higher management or others regarding staff. You will provide recommendations and potential courses of action that allow for continuous improvement in the area of employee assignments, processes that are supported by data, interpretations, explanations, and/or analysis. You will ensure that all procedural and administrative tasks are performed for the timely and correct completion of actions. You will obtain information and data from a variety of sources in order to compile and analyze data to identify deficiencies and shortfalls. You will research historical documentation for use in developing recommendations for improved future planning purposes. You will be responsible for operation, maintenance, and management of the automated systems for staff including various software packages and databases. You will use multiple office automation software (Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Reader etc.). You will oversee the amount of funding per Fiscal Year. You will properly request, muster, certify, and extract all training that employees perform. You will serve as an Organization Defense Travel Administrator (ODTA). You will exercise technical oversight and responsibility for managing various personnel data systems and apply those data systems skills and practical knowledge to effect smooth operations. You will provide advice and guidance to administrative and office staff members on the operation and capabilities available in various office systems. You will prepare and coordinate operating instructions relative to system operations. You will keep higher-level organizations apprised of system problems and operations. You will direct, monitor and control operations and maintenance of base-level personnel data systems. You will support and continue to enhance management goals by developing, designing and/or improving locally developed system applications. You will initiate and document policies and procedures relating to personnel management for use and maintenance of new applications and programs following established guidelines and regulations. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases. This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management. Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing recommendations and assistance for military personnel assignments, overseeing administrative and technical support functions pertaining to military personnel, and using automated military personnel systems. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR I have successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR I have successfully completed LL.B. or J.D., if related to the position being filled I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
