Job Description

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a bioinformatics Application Portfolio Manager for this program, you will:
Manage a portfolio of open source and commercial applications
Lead team in software life cycle activities, including updates, refinements, testing, and integration into production.
Facilitates and coordinates systems documentation and maintenance
Resolve technical issues in production and act as escalation point on software issues.
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices
Will serve as a team or task lead, with supervisory responsibility.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Required:
Education: B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology Management or Engineering or related - Or - Four years of related experience may be substituted for the education degree requirement established for this key personnel function.
Required Experience:
5+ years supervising software application configuration management.
Experience analyzing complex system requirements.
Experience managing software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
Understanding of formal change management processes
Preferred:
Experience as an Application Support Specialist or a Bioinformatician.
Familiarity with Cold Fusion
Experience managing life cycle of software applications
Understanding of open source bioinformatics tools helpful, but not required.
Familiarity with open source tools such as Python, Rstudio, Jupyter
Location: Research Triangle Park / Raleigh / Durham, NC
Timeline: This position is expected to start in February, 2025.

The likely salary range for this position is $118,575 - $160,425. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
