Apex Systems is looking to hire a Network Engineer to support our DOD client here in the Ft. Liberty, NC area. If interested, please contact Cameron by sending resume to Title: Network Engineer Location: Fort Liberty, NC 6 Month Contract to Hire Job Description Evaluates, designs, documents, installs, implements, tests, performs problem isolation and resolution, monitors, tunes and sets standards. Maintains a complex range of computer network components and systems. Plans and coordinates major information technology initiatives. Researches, evaluates and recommends new computer network equipment and technologies. Utilizes monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to trouble shoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance and trace data and protocol activity. Devises solutions to complex operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment. Develops and/or executes contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages. Education
BA/BS Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Provide enterprise level support and monitoring for World-class Test and Evaluation Center. This would include performing configuration, administration, troubleshooting and support of Cisco networking devices, WAN/LAN optimization systems, VoIP/RoIP/Video, and encryption devices. Oversee implementation of systems specifications; integration, testing, and documentation are a key part of the role. Exhibit strong technical skills related to numerous networking technologies including but not limited to: EIGRP, route redistribution, route filtering, Multicast, QoS, NBAR, GRE tunnels, Layer 2/3 switching, interVLAN routing, NAT, VPNs Spanning Tree, standard/extended ACLs, TACACS, Solarwinds, Riverbeds, and encryption devices. 5+ years of Network/IT Experience
Core Routing and Switching: EIGRP, GRE tunnels, InterVLAN routing, redistribution, ACLs, Multicast, QoS, NBAR, NAT, VPN, Layer 2/3 switching, HSRP, Spanning tree
Supplement Routing and Switching: TACACS, VoIP (Cisco Call Manager), RoIP (Wave), LAN/WAN optimization (Riverbed), monitoring solutions (Solarwinds/NetMRI), encryption devices (KG175, KG250, etc)
Cisco Adaptive Security Applicance Experience
CCNP or equivalent certification preferred, CCNA or equivalent certification required
DoD 8570 Level 2 certification required (Security +)
ITIL v3 Foundation certification preferred
Secure Wireless, Public Key Infrastructure, and mobile device experience preferred
Competent to work at a high technical level on all phases of network operations
Good communications skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through
Can effectively deliver training; possess good consulting skills
May be required to provide clear and effective direction to less experienced staff
Must be able to evaluate network performance and interact with users to solve complex problem
Detail oriented and organized; able to understand network evaluation criteria and be exact in assessments
Must closely follow network protocols and methodology
