Job description

Duties Serve as a liaison officer interfacing with senior leadership in order to ensure the appropriate approvals are obtained and to de-conflict operations for real-world contingencies. Lead and oversee special operations exercises, involving each of the Geographic Combatant Commanders (GCC) on a rotating basis. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) and lead in the coordination and execution of complex exercises and operational rehearsals that include combatant commands and Staff. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information SCI access. The work requires lifting up to 75 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. A pre-employment physical is required, and as needed thereafter. The position is deployable and is expected to travel OCONUS on a regular, rotating basis and/or on short notice. A physical is REQUIRED prior to EOD and as needed, thereafter. Immunizations are required for the deployed location. The position may require temporary duty (TDY) 30 days or less travel to various locations up to 25% of the time. May be required to spend 2-4 months DY as the LNO to a Combatant Command. In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. The incumbent may be required to work uncommon tour of duty hours, working either fixed or rotating shift which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays. The incumbent may be required to work with a short notice recall. Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
