Job Title: Specialist, NDI / NDT Field Engineering Job Code: 15043 Job Location: Fayetteville, NC (Onsite) Schedule: 5/8. 1st shift with flexibility to work swing/mid shift Clearance: Active Secret Security Clearance Job Description: L3Harris is currently seeking a Senior Specialist, NDI/NDT Field Engineer responsible for the inspection and test of aircraft structures, assembles and components for manufacturing, maintenance, and modification processes. Performs Non-destructive inspections of aircraft, structures, integrated components, engines, support equipment, and specialized equipment as required for the detection of faults or defects using NDT methods and techniques in ET, UT, MT, PT and RT.
Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision accuracy of products and production equipment.
Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
Eddy Current (ET) testing will be the primary method for this role. Essential Functions: Willingness and/or ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours to meet production schedule Ability to travel to support off-site NDI requirements both CONUS & OCONUS as needed with little notice (up to 25% travel)
Ability to climb and work on elevated platforms on top of aircraft, and be able to work in confined spaces
Comply with all safety environmental security and housekeeping standards Qualifications: Active Secret (or greater) security clearance. Investigation must have been adjudicated within the past 6 years in order to meet SAP requirements
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Minimum of 2 years experience with manufacturer's manuals, engineering drawings, technical data, specifications, industry standards and company processes and procedures
Eligible to meet NAS410 Level II certification requirements in the following methods: Eddy Current (ET), Penetrant (PT), Ultrasonics (UT), and Magnetic Particle (MT) Preferred Additional Skills: Current NAS410 Level II certification
Current Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License Experience with using a wide variety of technical data from OEM manuals to engineering drawings.
SAP computer database experience Experience in aerospace structure inspections
Estimating and bidding experience Able to work independently or within a group
Strong solution and problem-solving skills
Good time management and prioritizing skills
Excellent written, verbal, presentation and virtual communication skills
