The RLG Healthcare division is seeking a skilled Pressroom Manager to join our team in Garner, NC! The Pressroom Manager oversees all pressroom activity, playing a critical role in ensuring the efficient and optimized function of this crucial department within our plant. This individual will be responsible for advising press operators on best practices and daily workflow organization. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be passionate about driving accountability with all safety, quality and company standards.

This role reports to the Plant Manager and will oversee pressroom operations over 2 shifts.

Responsibilities:
Manage print projects in a consistent and precise manner. Ensure timely and accurate preparation for all printing jobs.

Lead, mentor, and develop a skilled pressroom team, including the hiring, training, evaluation and discipline of press operators.

Create and implement the work schedules, policies, and procedures for the pressroom.

Conduct training sessions to ensure staff proficiency in handling equipment, maintaining quality, and adhering to safety protocols. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations across all operational areas.

Develop and manage the daily/weekly/monthly goals and objectives for the department, and effectively communicate performance with press associates and others as needed.

Partner with plant leadership to identify and implement process improvement projects to drive productivity with new technologies, methods or systems. Stay abreast of latest trends and developments in the industry and resolve potential bottlenecks that directly impact pressroom performance and quality.

Regular inspection and maintenance of pressroom equipment, including various types of printing machines, such as offset, digital or flexographic presses.

Maintain inventory and overall budget of pressroom materials and supplies to ensure continuous operation.

Maintain expert level knowledge of press machine operations, maintain basic knowledge of operations at individual stations, and exhibit a willingness to help with production work throughout the day.

Collaboration with other departments on projects and use of best practices to optimize and align the pressroom capabilities with customers needs.

Provide daily / weekly / monthly reporting on pressroom operations to align with and support the quality system and department.

Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience working in a high-quality print manufacturing environment.

Minimum 5 years of experience managing sheetfed pressroom operations.

5+ years of direct team/people leadership experience.

Proven track record of process optimization, efficiency improvement, and quality control. Lean Six Sigma experience is highly preferred.

Strong technical knowledge of modern high speed sheetfed presses.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams for optimal performance.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking to address technical challenges effectively.

Strong organizational and communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
