Key Responsibilities

Manage an assigned caseload and conduct IEP meetings to ensure the appropriate development and implementation of individualized education plans

Utilize the general or adapted curriculum to plan and deliver instruction to students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities within a self-contained special education classroom setting

Establish clear objectives for all academic and pro-social skills lessons and design instruction, using evidenced based practices, to support students in the acquisition of these skills

Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, regional policy, and administrative regulation

Provide care and/or instruction in self-help skills such as toileting, dressing, feeding, positioning, etc., as needed

Manage attendance and grade reporting for all assigned students

Communicate effectively and regularly with students and parents about student progress

Perform other duties as deemed necessary and assigned by school leadership staff, the EC Facilitator, and DIrector or Student Support Services
