Responsibilities:
We are looking for a new Lab administrative assistant who would support a team of doctors & pathologists in our lab. Please note this is not in a clinic location where patients are seen. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone interested in a career in health care administration. You will be working in a fast-paced, team-oriented medical environment where the focus is on patients, quality and doing the right thing. Our office is a friendly, professional workplace with supportive co-workers and leaders.
Maintain efficient and accurate workflow for 4 pathologists
Verify case preparedness for doctors
Enter quick text macros and transcribe case reports
Ensure accuracy of grammar and spelling
Phone clients
Assist with answering general inbound calls
Pair ancillary slides
Communicate with lab regarding status of ancillary testing
Fax reports and information to client offices at direction of the Director of Clinical Services
File slides and paperwork.
Locate and retrieve slides and paperwork from archives
Scan internal consult documentation, verification logs, and other scanning as requested
Maintain level of consistency and effective communication with management regarding workflow, equipment maintenance, and information related to the daily operation of the Case Management department
Perform other duties assigned
Uphold company integrity by maintaining security and confidentiality of all data, procedures and data system components
Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications:
4-year degree is strongly preferred
At least 1 year of experience working in an administrative support position or other closely related experience is strongly preferred
Strong general computer skills and proficiency with MS
Must be well organized and ability to prioritize work
Ability to multi-task while still paying attention to detail
Excellent communication and phone skills
Dependable and proficient time management skills
Typing 50+ wpm
Licensure/Certifications/Education:
