Construction Coordinator

Location: Liberty, NC 27298

Position Summary

Responsible for managing general contractors and subcontractors, testing agencies, budgets, and schedules on specific buildings in support and coordination of overall plant construction project completion. Administer construction contracts; conduct on-site inspections to monitor plan compliance. Direct activities of contractors and subcontractors to support project schedule in compliance with plans and specifications. Research, plan, and administer building projects, applying knowledge of design, construction procedures, and building materials. Present status reports to owner. Receive, review and coordinate contract changes into project delivery. Be intimately and completely knowledgeable of current and future activities in area(s) of responsibility and be able to implement countermeasures to support project schedule.

Position Responsibilities :

Implement heavy industrial equipment installation projects.

Coordinates heavy equipment installation scheduling and communication.

Manage daily construction and support contractor's RFI (Request for Information)

Manage assignment responsibilities related to field change orders

Coordinate communications between owner and installation general contractor

Author equipment installation scope of work and bid packages, including compilation of necessary inputs from Production Engineering.

Develop budgetary estimates for scope of equipment installation bid packages.

May be responsible for developing schedules and ordering materials.

Supervises construction activity in the field.

Coordinate weekend/shutdown work plans with contractors, facilities, NAMC shops, PC, and PE.

Work with vendors and contractors to coordinate equipment delivery, installation, and scheduling.

Know general equipment installation methods.

Understand connecting electrical, piping, and HVAC services to heavy industrial equipment.

Develop project status reports for management review.

Monitor equipment installation methods for confirmation that installation meets specifications and drawings.

Coordinator RFI's and CCR's.

Take proactive measures to ensure a safe job site.

Monitor and promote compliance with safety rules and procedures at the job site; correct and report issues/incidents in a timely manner.

Position Requirements :

Level of experience 10-15 years.

10+ years of experience in industrial construction projects, with emphasis on heavy industrial equipment installation.

Strong technical knowledge of heavy industrial equipment installation means and methods.

Proficient drawing review and field application abilities.

OSHA 30 and 510 certifications.

Ability to stand, stoop, and walk throughout a large industrial manufacturing plant for many hours of the day.

Ability to ascend & descend stairs to roof or equipment rooms throughout a large industrial manufacturing plant.

Competent with Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

Associates degree in construction management

Software experience: AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project

Automotive building experience including underground utilities, earthwork, civil, structural steel, building envelope, mechanical / electrical, and building handover / completion

REFERRAL BONUS PROGRAM:
