Staff Accountant - ASSA ABLOY Door Controls - HWY 74 E, Monroe, NC

Door Controls is currently seeking a qualified Staff Accountant reporting directly to the Controller whose attention to detail, organizational and time management skills, managing and analyzing financial records with a specific focus on cost accounting functions and desire to exceed expectations join our dynamic administrative team.

What you will be doing?

As a Staff Accountant, you will join a team of professionals and your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Update and maintain inventory valuations in accordance with IFRS, including daily cost rolls for new products/variants and an annual plant wide cost roll.
  • Preparing cost reports, analyze cost structures and perform cost variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies.
  • Develop and implement cost control measures and strategies to optimize financial performance. Ensure accurate allocation of costs across various products.
  • Analyze inventory reconciliation at month end researching variances as needed. Support the coordination of the annual physical inventory.
  • Participate in the month end financial close process, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
  • Record intercompany transactions, post payments and support sister companies with reporting.
  • Prepare and distribute daily sales report validating to the general ledger and reconciling any differences. At month end finalize sales reporting and support the updates to the global reporting system.
  • Prepare and analyze weekly productivity report. Provide other production related reports as requested by management.
  • Supporting budgeting & forecasting process and assist in providing financial analysis to support various departments
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership team members to identify their needs; seek to provide finance/accounting team support.
  • Continuously seek improvements supporting ASSA ABLOY's strategic objectives.

What we are looking for?

We believe the ideal candidate has:

  • B.S. in Accounting or similar field.
  • 2 - 3 years accounting experience, with an emphasis on cost accounting, reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Strong Excel spreadsheet capabilities. Business Objects, HFM, and JDE proficiency preferred.
  • Very high attention to detail, good organizational skills, good communication skills, reacts well to time pressure, comfortable working in plant environment and is motivated to learn all aspects of the manufacturing operation.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to focus on details, as necessary.
