Job Title: Incentive Compensation Accountant

Job Summary:

The Incentive Compensation Accountant is responsible for the accurate calculation and processing of commission payments, ensuring timely and compliant compensation to employees. This role involves reviewing and interpreting contracts, resolving discrepancies, and collaborating with various teams to streamline the commission process. The Incentive Compensation Accountant will also perform general accounting duties to support the broader financial operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Calculate commission payments based on sales performance, contractual agreements, and company policies.

Review and interpret employee contracts, ensuring accuracy in commission structures and incentive calculations.

Process monthly, quarterly, and annual commission payments while ensuring all data is correct and up-to-date.

Reconcile commission payments with financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.

Work with sales, finance, and human resources teams to resolve any discrepancies or questions related to incentive compensation.

Prepare and maintain detailed reports on commission payouts, including analysis of trends and discrepancies.

Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining incentive compensation programs and policies.

Ensure compliance with all legal, tax, and regulatory requirements regarding compensation payments.

Prepare financial reports and statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

Assist in maintaining accurate and organized financial records and documentation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

2+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on compensation, payroll, or commissions.

Strong understanding of compensation structures, incentive programs, and related financial practices.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with commission software is a plus.

Ability to read, interpret, and apply contractual agreements.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across departments.
