Responsibilities:

What you'll be challenged to do:

Works with the SUE Department lead and Project Managers to provide subsurface utility engineering (SUE) activities. Provides field oversight and quality control on projects throughout the Transystems organization. Primary role also includes directing and training SUE field technicians.

Essential Functions:

Lead SUE field efforts including project planning, execution, and quality control to ensure client expectations, budgets, and schedules are met.

Responsible for training SUE technicians assigned to the team

Responsible for communication between office and field teams both written and verbal

Responsible for initial QA/QC of field work performed by others

Provides direction for field staff procedures and methods in conjunction with the SUE Department Lead

Ensures SUE field health and safety compliance in conjunction with supervisors

Assists in SUE data processing, reporting and mapping.

Maintain records, prepare reports and prepares correspondence as needed related to the completion of work assignments.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.

Qualifications:
What you bring to our firm:

A minimum of 5 years SUE experience.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Valid driver's license and good driving record.

Extensive knowledge of ground penetrating radar, cable locating equipment and vacuum excavation.

Strong problem solving skills and ability to make decision in a timely manner

Working knowledge of ASCE 38-22

Ability to handle and manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks.

Ability to coordinate and direct multiple SUE crews.

Operate standard office equipment (i.e., personal computer, plotter, facsimile, copy machine, etc.)

Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

What we'd prefer for you to bring to our firm:

DOT experience is a plus

Industrial site experience is a plus

Experience in land surveying is a plus

Physical/Mental Demands:

Talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach

Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
