HOW A CLOUD ARCHITECT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Cloud focus is currently Azure but could include work within Google Cloud Platform.
Deploy, configure, and manage Cloud services
Assist Network and Compute Technologies (NCT) Innovation staff with following best practices for Cloud, maximizing efficiency of cloud resources, and general knowledge sharing of cloud expertise with NCT Cloud Staff
Assist with Operationalizing deployments and support of Cloud services for NCT Operations. This will include standardizing and automating processes and workflows, creating documentation/knowledge articles, and overall assist Operations staff who have limited experience in Cloud
Written and oral presentation to high level CIO management on statues of current efforts
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Strong skills and experience with Cloud Operations support in Azure and Google Cloud Platform
Strong Experience supporting large scale/enterprise level Cloud environments
Strong Experience supporting several cloud services related to compute, network and databases,
Experience of automation/orchestration using any of the following: Ansible, Ansible Tower, Terraform, YAML, Jenkins, or equivalent
Fluency in at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, Ruby or equivalent)
Ability to troubleshoot cloud resource problems and perform complex system tests
Develop and maintain accurate documentation for internal procedures and services
Ability to automate solutions to repetitive problems/tasks
Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services
Integration of Git, in continuous deployment
Experience with DevOps monitoring tools
Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
Creative thinking skills
Detail-oriented personality
Ability to communicate well to other members of the development team
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience with the following cloud technologies: ROSA, Apigee Hybrid, Kafka, Kubernetes, Confluent Cloud, Mirror Maker 2.0, ISTIO Service Mesh, Enterprise Event Broker, DevSecOps tools (ArgoCD)
Strong understanding of cloud networking at scale
Ability to break down complex networking concepts and present them in a concise way
PowerShell scripting experience
Kubernetes
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 10+ years of related experience.
CERTIFICATIONS:
Candidates should have a Cloud Architect certification with at least one of the major cloud providers (Azure, GCP or AWS).
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution in a computer science, information system or related field preferred
LOCATION:
Candidates should be within commuting distance of the following client sites: Eagan, MN; Raleigh, NC; San Mateo, CA.
Hybrid work schedule of 2 days in the office and 3 days remote
SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL:
Ability to achieve a Public Trust clearance - the security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.
The likely salary range for this position is $140,250 - $189,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
