Job Summary:
As a dedicated and detail-oriented Lubrication Technician Level 1 to join our plant facility reliability team. This entry-level position will play a crucial role in supporting the lubrication program by ensuring the proper lubrication of all equipment, reducing equipment wear, and preventing breakdowns. The Lubrication Technician Level 1 will work closely with senior technicians and maintenance teams to carry out lubrication tasks according to established schedules and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine lubrication tasks, including applying grease, oils, and other lubricants to equipment following standard procedures.
Follow established lubrication schedules and ensure all equipment is lubricated as per manufacturer specifications and operational requirements.
Inspect machinery and equipment to identify lubrication needs and report any signs of wear or equipment issues to senior technicians or supervisors.
Maintain accurate records of lubrication activities, including equipment serviced, type of lubricant used, and any observations during lubrication rounds.
Assist in oil sampling and condition monitoring to support predictive maintenance programs.
Work collaboratively with the maintenance and reliability teams to prioritize lubrication activities and minimize equipment downtime.
Ensure that lubrication equipment and tools are maintained in good working condition and stored properly.
Comply with all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling of hazardous materials.
Attend training sessions and learn lubrication best practices, safety procedures, and equipment operation under the guidance of senior team members.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on lubrication processes and suggesting enhancements.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or training in industrial maintenance or lubrication is a plus.
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.
Willingness to learn lubrication techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in industrial maintenance, machinery operation, or lubrication (even in a part-time or apprentice role).
Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
Willingness to work in various industrial environments, which may include exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise.
