Job Description:

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Labor and Delivery on behalf of our esteemed client, a regional medical center located in Sanford, NC. This pivotal role involves overseeing the Labor and Delivery department to ensure the highest standards of patient care and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

Provide leadership and direction to the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring alignment with the medical center's strategic goals.

Manage and mentor nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance patient care quality and safety.

Monitor staff performance, conduct evaluations, and implement professional development plans.

Operational Oversight:

Oversee daily operations of the Labor and Delivery department, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Coordinate with other departments to streamline patient care and improve service delivery.

Manage budgetary aspects, including resource allocation, inventory control, and cost management.

Patient Care:

Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in the Labor and Delivery unit.

Address patient concerns and complaints, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.

Implement best practices and evidence-based care protocols to improve patient outcomes.

Quality Improvement:

Lead quality improvement initiatives within the department, focusing on patient safety, clinical outcomes, and satisfaction.

Analyze performance data and implement strategies to enhance service delivery and patient care.

Participate in accreditation and regulatory compliance processes.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field is required.

Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Licensure:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of North Carolina or a Compact state is required.

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required.

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a labor and delivery setting is required.

Proven track record of effective leadership and team management in a healthcare environment.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in healthcare management systems and software.
