Responsible for maintaining, assessing, and improving the compliance posture for FirstEnergy Systems and processes with emphasis on North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards and the NERC 693 Reliability standards.
About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. SC00
Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting FirstEnergy's compliance with NERC CIP and NERC 693 reliability standards
- Serving as a subject matter expert for compliance procedural and processing requirements and conduct associated internal training
- Assisting reliability standard owners in meeting all procedural and management expectations
- Monitoring, assigning, and coordinating IT compliance/reliability actions tracked in the CATSWeb application.
- Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of FE compliance policies, programs, procedures, and guidelines related to the NERC CIP and NERC 693 standards
- Preparing for, coordinating, and supporting self-certifications, data submittals, and compliance audits
- Preparing for, performing, and supporting internal compliance controls
- Participating in compliance investigations and documenting root cause analysis
- Coordinating the performance of scheduled maintenance activities associated with regulatory requirements and creating evidence documentation used to demonstrate compliance.
- Creating and executing reports and dashboards containing compliance statistics and metrics
- Performing project management activities - e.g. developing and executing work plans, monitoring progress.

An employee hired at the Level IV will be expected to perform all of the above responsibilities with more proficiency, and in a more independent manner. Further, the Level IV employee will be assigned additional related responsibilities.

Qualifications at the Level III include:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree preferred along with a minimum 4 years related work experience. In lieu of a degree, 6 years related work experience required. Related work experience includes, but is not limited to:- Experience with IT general controls which include but are not limited to change management, release management, and Cyber Security policies and procedures
- Experience developing, implementing and auditing controls to meet NERC CIP Requirements
- Experience preparing evidence for audits

- Strong data analytics and exception reporting skills for assessment of compliance
- Strong proficiency in use of analytical tools including PowerBI and Excel
- Excellent communication skills to effectively annotate findings in both written and oral form
- Ability to write at a professional and technical level to ensure a consistent understanding of the subject matter across multiple knowledge levels.
- Ability to think technically, research, analyze and document compliance findings
- Ability to effectively prioritize and plan activities, work on multiple concurrent tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong background and experience with personal computer hardware, operating systems and application software (office productivity tools)

Preferred:
- Familiarity with relevant utility operations (transmission, distribution, generation)
- In depth knowledge of relevant work experience
