We're looking for a systems administrator with proven expertise in both Linux and Windows administration. You must be able to work both independently and as part of a team to help us maintain and improve the systems and networks we support, providing our clients with a functional and secure platform for analysis and sof tware development. As a systems administrator on our project, you'll be responsible for activities related to system operations and administration. You'll help to design and implement improvements to hardware / sof tware architecture and configurations, create and modify scripts used for system administration in languages such as Bash and PowerShell, maintain and provide life cycle support for deployed systems, including troubleshooting issues, updating hardware and sof tware baselines, assisting with configuration control, and maintaining a reliable inventory. You will perform work on both Linux and Windows systems, such as imaging and management for both physical and virtual operating systems, including provisioning, configuration, patch and update management, and secure baseline management using SCAP tools and STIGs. You'll help customers overcome challenges by recommending improvements to existing components or processes, creating and maintaining documentation, and supporting the configuration management processes. You'll provide your customers insight into the network through monitoring and performance management. Your te chn ical expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement and communicate those needs with the team. We focus on growing as a team, so we'll share te chn iques, work through challenges, and develop new methodologies together. You Have: 2+ years of experience with systems administration
1+ years of experience with Windows Server administration
1+ years of experience supporting end users with desktop hardware and sof tware troubleshooting
Experience with Linux RedHat administration, including command line usage
Knowledge of Active Directory, group policies , and file sharing permissions
Knowledge of the STIG process, SCAP tools, STIG Viewer, and ACAS
Ability to take initiative and leverage a desire to learn
Secret clearance HS diploma or GED
Security+ or DoDD 8140 / DoDD 8570 certification Nice If You Have: Experience with virtualization, specifically VMWare vSphere and related te chn ologies
Experience with system imaging
Experience working in an air-gapped environment
Experience with a wide array of various te chn ologies, including SAN, NAS, Splu nk , NFS, and RDP
Knowledge of core networking concepts including DNS and VLANs
Knowledge of data backup and recovery solutions and WSUS or Linux update tools
Ability to work independently and as a dedicated team member
Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including creating and maintaining te chn ical documentation
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, CS, or Engineering Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information ; Secret clearance is required. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
