Position: Experienced Welder

Status: Hourly

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Primary Responsibility:

Seeking a welder with at least 5 years of experience in welding mild and structural steel using various methods such as gas metal arc welding (GMAW/MIG), MIG welding, TIG welding, brazing, and flux core arc welding (FCAW). The candidate must have experience welding on steel, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum, and copper. Proficiency in welding in multiple positions, including flat, horizontal, and vertical, is required. The candidate should be skilled in welding fillet and butt weld joints and able to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions. Passing a weld test will be required for employment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Proficient use of basic hand tools such as a grinder, cut-off wheel, and magnetic drill.

• Ability to accurately read and interpret a tape measure (test will be required).

• Experience in layout, measuring, and fitting metal components.

• Must be able to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints and weld symbols.

• Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.

• Experience with overhead cranes.

• Ability to lift and maneuver metal components weighing a minimum of 50 lbs.

Qualifications:

• Flexibility to work in other related departments as required.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

• Over 5 years of on-the-job experience in welding using GMAW or FCAW welding methods.

• More than 2 years of experience in reading blueprints and interpreting weld symbols.

• Candidates will be subject to a weld test that includes:

o Print reading

o Fit-up

o Welding

o Pressure testing

Additional Qualifications:

• Must pass all check's/ screen's.

• If duties involve operating a motor vehicle, must pass a motor vehicle record check.
