POSITION TITLE: Lead Technician Layer I

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

ADB is seeking a Lead Technician, Layer I to support the Facility Infrastructure Team installing copper and fiber. This position provides a high level of technical knowledge and site supervision to ensure successful completions of various projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive cable installation experience, as well as a strong work ethic and an ALL IN attitude to achieve results.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform Inside Plant Operations including, but not limited to, fusion, optical loss, OTDR fiber splicing and testing, additions, removals, wiring connections and modifications on working equipment and circuits
• Review, validate and create High-Level Designs and Low-Level Designs for areas of expertise
• Follow Customer/Industry standards for design documentation and implementation
• Provide technical leadership to installation and support engineering teams
• Participate as part of the project leadership team
• Manage and track time, materials, equipment, project documentation, within project guidelines and submit daily and weekly reports
• Review, audit, and approve deployments
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, like sitting, squatting, standing, walking and driving.
• Must endure regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and/or rainy spring, summer and fall weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
• May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated.
• Must wear common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats and high visible vest when working on-site.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
• 4-7 years of experience with cable installation procedures required
• 5+ years experience of data center buildouts required
• BICSI Installer 2- Copper certification preferred but not required
• Certified on test equipment for phone, data, and fiber optic a plus
• High School Diploma or equivalent required

This position pays a base hourly wage starting at $36/hr and is determined by experience and skillset.

This position also offers a prevailing wage of $61.97 an hour while on a specific job site.
