Job description

All Qualified Resumes Responded to in 24 Hrs or Less US Citizenship a must/DOD Clearable Job Description: Lead System Safety planning for electronic or electro-optical designs under development, perform system safety analyses, and document findings in Safety Assessment Reports Perform system hazard analyses compliant to strictly-defined aerospace manned-mission standards, and prepare supporting Hazard Analysis Reports and Hazard Management Assessment documentation Perform Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) for the company's wide range of products, including executing Fault Tree Analyses (FTA) and creating appropriate documentation Perform reliability prediction calculations (e.g. MTBF) for electro-optical systems, and prepare System Reliability Analysis Reports for submission to customers Perform inspections of electrical components and direct failure analyses to identify root cause Review electrical component screening data to identify and mitigate failure/reliability risks Knowledge of radiation effects and impact to reliability calculations Mentor and coach others internal to organization Required Education: BS or MS in Electronic Engineering or related discipline Required Skills/Experience: Six years of related experience as a Safety Engineer in the Aerospace Industry Experience in high reliability (Grade 2 and Grade 1) Space flight environments Knowledge of and experience with industry/Government Standards (MIL-STD-750, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-202, EEE-INST-002, MIL-PRF-38534, MIL-STD-1580, etc) A Background in Destructive Physical Analysis or Failure Analysis is required. Knowledge of radiation effects (TID, SEE, ELDRS) Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary as the position requires program, customer, and suppler interface The candidate must be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision and act independently as well as possess the ability to work in a team-oriented, matrix environment Desired Skills: Prior experience as a Safety Engineer on a MIL-STD-882 compliant or manned-spaceflight program is highly desired Experience with high reliability (Grade 2 and Grade 1) aerospace programs and electrical components is desirable Experience with MDA MAP/PMAP programs and electrical components is desirable. Experience working with military specifications, drawings and screening requirements for electrical components is desired Strong familiarity with reliability & safety processes and tools (e.g. reliability prediction using Windchill/Relex, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), etc.) Proven electronics test and circuit design capability Advanced capability in technical writing: Proposals, reports, analysis and published papers Advanced skills in the application of modeling and analysis tools Understanding of environmental and component tolerancing worst-case effects on circuit performance and its ability to meet stated requirements System engineering background with experience in System and Software Safety
