Job Summary:
We're looking to add a Sr. Process Engineer located in Cleveland OH.
The Sr. Process Engineer will Improve and support existing systems for reporting and analyzing data. Collect and communicate product, process, and quality data. Recommend and implement process improvements regarding quality and efficiency based on detailed analysis. Ensure all quality procedures are carried out and effectively work with production to meet customers' expectations while meeting production demands.
What You Will Do on a Typical Day:
Understand the effect of process changes on product performance.
Collect and communicate product quality data.
Assist in Root Cause Analysis of process-related defects and effects on final products.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving customer complaints with failure analysis and metallographic interpretations.
Contribute to process improvements based on detailed analysis of quality parameters data and collaboration with outside technical resources and organizations.
Participate in Six Sigma, Orange Belt, and problem-solving teams.
Answer inquiries from other departments and monitor production for problems or issues.
Conduct customer and internal tours based on product and process needs.
Assist in feasibility evaluations of potential new steel grades and modifications to existing grades.
Coordinate internal and external laboratory analyses of samples.
Help create reports and recommendations based on the results.
Partner with production employees on problem solving production related issues.
Participant in Continuous Improvement and problem-solving teams.
Populate and maintain databases for assessment of product capability analysis, specifications, supplier approvals, and deviations.
Perform annual calibration of lab analysis equipment.
Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.

What You Will Need:
Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy/Materials Engineering or related degree.
Two plus years' experience working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues related to production and product quality.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills to work with individuals at all levels of the business.
Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated passion and intellectual curiosity within the steel industry and Materials field of study.
Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.
Experience in material selection, product specifications, and failure analysis.
Participate in cross functional teams and resources without direct authority; including the ability to collaborate and influence others to find the optimal solution.
Experience in Continuous Improvement of operations through equipment design and modification.
Experience in performing queries in various computer applications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software products.
Nice to Have Experience:
Four plus years' experience working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
Metallurgy and steel manufacturing knowledge, including use of metallurgical lab equipment.
Exposure to ISO/Quality System Requirements - Business specific, please update at time of posting.
Experience participating and facilitating problem solving teams.
Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.
Experience leading cross functional teams and resources without direct authority; including the ability to collaborate and influence others to find the optimal solution.
